Taking to Twitter, PM Modi said “Tomorrow, August 31, at around 10 AM, I will inaugurate the National Conference of District Judiciary at Bharat Mandapam.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Conference of District Judiciary on August 31 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The two-day conference, being organised by the Supreme Court of India, will see participation from over 800 members of the district judiciary from all States and Union Territories.

During the event, the Prime Minister will also unveil a commemorative stamp and coin marking 75 years since the establishment of the apex court.

The conference will include five working sessions, which will be focused on various issues affecting the District Judiciary, including infrastructure, human resources, inclusive courtrooms, judicial security, judicial wellness, caste management, and judicial training.

The session on “Infrastructure and Human Resources” will aim to identify strategies for improving the district judiciary’s infrastructure and workforce.

The conference will also discuss ways to make courtrooms more inclusive and accessible for all, including persons with disabilities, women, children, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Moreover, the conference will explore the importance of judicial security and judicial wellness, and will identify strategies for ensuring the safety and well-being of judges and judicial officers.

The conference will conclude with a session on “Caste Management and Judicial Training,” which will focus on the role of the judiciary in addressing caste-based discrimination and promoting judicial training for judges and judicial officers from marginalized communities.

The National Conference of District Judiciary is a significant event that will bring together members of the district judiciary from across the country to discuss and deliberate on key issues affecting the administration of justice at the district level.
