Crypto Prices Today (August 28): How Are BTC, ETH, SOL, and XRP Performing?

Cryptocurrency prices fell on Sunday, August 28, reversing recent gains as traders awaited U.S. inflation data and Nvidia earnings.

Bitcoin dropped 5% to $59,510. Its 24-hour trading range was between $58,116.75 and $63,207.60. The world’s largest cryptocurrency slipped below the key psychological level of $60,000.

Traders anticipated U.S. PCE inflation data and Nvidia earnings. The graphics chipmaker’s results are typically seen as a barometer for the broader tech sector. Additionally, traders noted increasing whale dumps and anticipation of a potential crypto market correction.

On the other hand, the number of Bitcoin millionaires surged 111% this year. This increase coincides with the halving event and Bitcoin scaling a new all-time high in the first half of the year.

Bitcoin ETFs saw outflows to the tune of $127.05 million as of August 27, according to Soso Value data. This outflow aligns with the coin’s tumbled movement on Sunday.

The flagship coin’s dominance saw a 0.03% decrease over the past day, currently at 56.27%.

ETH dropped nearly 8% to $2,478. Its 24-hour lows and highs were recorded at $2,401.18 and $2,700.15, respectively.

Ethereum ETFs recorded outflows of $3.45 million as of August 27. These outflows come despite BlackRock’s recent launch of an Ethereum ETF in Brazil.

Meanwhile, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin revealed that around 90% of his net worth is in ETH holdings. While this statement sparked investor enthusiasm, the cryptocurrency’s price currently shows a sluggish performance. Its market capitalization slipped below the $300 billion mark at press time.

SOL fell 6.5% to $148 in the past 24 hours. Solana’s 24-hour lows and highs were $145.58 and $159.62, respectively.

The Solana blockchain was recently integrated into Robinhood’s wallet, marking a significant stride for the token’s ecosystem.

XRP fell 4% to $0.966 in the past 24 hours. Its 24-hour lows and highs were recorded at $0.948 and $1.014, respectively.
