Black Myth: Wukong Chen Loong Quest: How to Reach Zodiac Village Ruyi Scroll

Black Myth Wukong contains a hidden quest in Chapter 3 for Chen Loong. He’s a dragon NPC found in Chapter 3 at Bitter Lake > North Shore of the Bitter Lake. Doing this quest is very important, it leads to the secret areaRuyi Scroll > Zodiac Village > Village Entrance. There you can grow plants for harvesting and upgrade armor. All NPC vendors will move to this new hub area. You also earn two trophies there for upgrading armor and harvesting planted seeds.

Quest Start

Chapter 3 > Bitter Lake > North Shore of the Bitter Lake:From this shrine turn around, follow the coastline. At the very end of the coastline you can find a hidden boss in the water. Walk in the water to reach him, he’s a dragon called “Chen Loong“. Defeat him, afterward you get a cutscene, then talk to him and exhaust all dialogue. He wants you to get medicine from Xu Dog, another NPC.

Get Special-made Bone Strengthening Pellet from Xu Dog

Chapter 2 > Crouching Tiger Temple > Cellar:To the right of this shrine, talk to Xu Dog (pick the “Talk” option in his menu). He gives you the key item “Get Special-made Bone Strengthening Pellet“. He’s the merchant that lets you upgrade your attributes in exchange for Mind Cores. If you haven’t visited him before, he will pop out of a vase there and triggers a cutscene.

If you haven’t been to the Cellar Shrine yet: There are two ways of getting here, and for story purposes you will have taken at least one of the two paths on the way to beating Chapter 2. Option #1: Yellow Wind Formation > Windseal Gate – Go through the gate in front of the shrine and go up the sandy path directly in front of you after going through the gate. Option #2: Crouching Tiger Temple > Temple Entrance – From where you defeated the Tiger Vanguard boss, interact with the statue in the boss arena to open a hatch, then go down the hatch to reach the Cellar Shrine.

Return to Chen Loong

Chapter 3 > Bitter Lake > North Shore:Return to where you fought Chen Loong to start the quest. He will be in the same place but instead of standing in the water he should now be standing at the shoreline in front of a hut, next to where you fought him. Deliver theGet Special-made Bone Strengthening Pelletyou got from Xu Dog.

This finishes the quest and he automatically teleports you to a new area called Ruyi Scroll > Zodiac Village. There is more to do there however!

Zodiac Village

All NPC vendors (Shen MonkeyandXu Dog) will move to the Zodiac Village.Chen Loong, he lets you plant seeds (randomly dropped by enemies) which can be harvested after enough timed has passed. You also findYin Tigerhere, he lets you upgrade your armor!

This area is easily overlooked if you don’t know of its existence, yet the ability to upgrade armor is very important to make the game easier.

You can also get two quick trophies in Zodiac Village:

  • Black Myth: Wukong Chen Loong Quest: How to Reach Zodiac Village Ruyi ScrollHappy Harvest– Talk to Chen Loong and deliver him some seeds (randomly dropped by enemies, if you don’t have any keep playing and come back later). After some time has passed you can come back and interact with the golden-glowing basket in front of Chen Loong to unlock this trophy. Come back after 1-2 boss fights.
  • Black Myth: Wukong Chen Loong Quest: How to Reach Zodiac Village Ruyi ScrollPound and Perfect– Talk to Yin Tiger (the blacksmith) in the corner of the area. Here you can upgrade an armor piece to unlock this trophy. You can also challenge him to a duel, beating him unlocks the Spell “Ebon Flow”.

Doing all this also unlocks the Journal Character entries for Chen Loong and Yin Tiger which you need to complete the Journal.
