The report pointed out that in the second quarter of 2024, the consumer market grew by 11.2% year-on-year due to strong demand from both online and offline channels. Online retail channels grew by 22.4% year-on-year.

The business sector grew by 3.5% year-on-year, with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMB) growing by 12.4% year-on-year and large enterprises (LB) growing by 33.1% year-on-year.

HP

HP leads the commercial and consumer markets with 33.5% and 29.7% shares respectively. HP also leads the laptop segment with a 34.4% share, driven by growing demand for consumer laptops and the fulfillment of some important corporate orders.

Lenovo

Lenovo ranked second, with shipments in the consumer and commercial markets growing 32.7% and 6.3% year-on-year respectively. Lenovo performed well in the small and medium-sized enterprise market, growing 16.5% year-on-year.

Good demand from online retail channels and continued push in the SME market, as well as a good mix of AMD devices in the channel, helped Lenovo improve its performance.

Dell

Dell Technologies was in third place as it struggled in the commercial desktop category, which fell 15.9% year-over-year due to continued pricing pressure from peers in government and enterprise orders.

However, Dell achieved 6.4% year-on-year growth in the consumer market. Dell ran a good back-to-school/college promotion and achieved good sales performance in offline channels.

Acer

Acer is in fourth place but posted healthy growth of 38.3% in Q2 2024. It leads the desktop market with 27.6% share.

ASUS

ASUS ranked fifth, with a year-on-year growth of 5.4%. Despite a low base, ASUS's year-over-year growth in the commercial market was a whopping 131.7%. Its performance was driven by its increasing focus on the commercial market and continued expansion of the offline market.
