A new virtual reality entertainment centre is set to open in Bellevue, Washington, promising guests the chance to dodge kraken tentacles and take on other out-of-this-world challenges.
Named Mirra, the state-of-the-art venue held a preview last week, ahead of its grand opening later this month.
Mirra boasts a number of immersive attractions, dominated by a central screen that takes up most of the back wall, displaying gameplay from other players while guests wait.
In the VR experience itself, guests can compete in teams of up to eight people across a number of challenges, with Mirra promising an ever-changing rota of VR games that it has developed itself.
Geekwire.com reports that games including Hyper Rhythm, Bubble Boom, Laser Room and Hockey Smash were all available to play at the preview.
Players register for games using a tablet before they are equipped with a Meta Quest 3 headset by venue staff.
Trackers located throughout the venue are said to follow players’ movements precisely, meaning there is a lack of wires or other impediments.
Mirra will also offer food and beverage, with a full bar and booths for guests to sit in.
