Learning a programming language isn’t for the faint-hearted. You really need to dive in to grasp it, and there are many skill levels to progress through. JavaScript, for instance, is quite different from C++. As a higher-level language, it handles a lot for you, has some pretty advanced constructs, and has a lot of them. It’s like comparing a text editor to a word processor; there are many template layers that do real work for you. I haven’t tackled file I/O yet, but working with standard output to the console was engaging today. Managing order of execution by grouping operators and operands, is a great warm-up. Today, I covered conditionals, including if-else statements. Tomorrow, I’ll start with functions, where the heavy lifting begins.
For healthy workspace reasons, I may relocate for the next five days, but it won’t significantly impact my learning.
