Xiaomi has now confirmed the European release of Smart Band 9, less than a month after the fitness tracker's debut in China. For context, impending international availability for the Smart Band 8(curr. $42 on Amazon) has been known about for a while thanks to an appearance on Amazon Italy.
While the leaked pricing shown by Amazon was accurate, details about the Smart Band 9's global release date are slightly less clear cut. Nonetheless, the Smart Band 9 will reach Europe a few days earlier than suggested. Specifically, Xiaomi has revealed that its latest fitness tracker will be available from August 16 for €39.99.
With that being said, Xiaomi is already allowing people to place a €1 deposit against a Smart Band 9 purchase, which must be paid for by the end of August 19. Thus, Smart Band 9 may not become orderable from third parties until after that date. Also, Xiaomi is offering €5 initial launch discount, bringing its effective price to €34.99, with a free pair of Mi In-Ear Headphones Basic or €1.99 extra for the Redmi Buds 4 Active worth €9.99 and €12.99 each.
According toAndroid Planet, Xiaomi will offer the Smart Band 9 with NFC connectivity too. For reference, this would be a first for the Smart Band series since the Smart Band 7. However, we cannot see any evidence of that yet. Please seeXiaomi's product pagefor further details.
