Bitcoin price increased by more than 5% today, reaching above $63,000, while an upward trend prevails throughout the cryptocurrency market. One of the factors behind this rise is the action of large investors, known as whales. A Bitcoin wallet that has been dormant for nearly 12 years has become active again, transferring 1,000 BTC (about $60 million) in the last few hours. This massive transfer coincided with the rise in Bitcoin price and attracted the attention of investors.

The wallet received those $BTC on Sep 25, 2012, when the price was only $12.06 ($12.06K).

In 2012, the owner of this wallet purchased 1,000 BTC when each Bitcoin was $12. This investment cost only $12,060 at the time. Today, the value of these 1,000 BTC has reached 60 million. It is thought that this transfer was caused by a whale who wanted to make a profit by taking advantage of the increase in Bitcoin price. Although the transfer of 1,000 BTC was not a large enough amount to significantly impact the market, it increased investors’ enthusiasm and contributed to Bitcoin continuing its uptrend.
