Apple Intelligence is coming to Vision Pro as HomePods get left out in the cold

In a recent “Power On” newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman revealed that Apple is gearing up to release Apple Intelligence to the Vision Pro headset, although the rollout won't take place this year.

The report is presumed to be accurate as the headset features enough memory to support on-device Apple Intelligence features such as notification summaries, writing assistance, and an enhanced version of Siri.

The company's user interface design team will have to ensure Apple Intelligence fits in the mixed-reality environment well. Also, the company will have to make sure its servers are up to the job and no slowdowns will occur if the number of Assistance users shoots up.

Gurman also has some bad news for HomePod owners. He claims the smart speakers will neverreceive any of those new features. But Apple is apparently working on a new robotic device with a Retina display that has Apple Intelligence at its core.

The relatively low 1 gigabyte of RAM is named as the reason for HomePod and HomePod mini; Apple Intelligence reportedly requires something like 8 gigabytes to function well. Furthermore, Gurman notes that the latest HomePod is “too low-volume a product to waste the engineering time” on integrating such advanced features.
