The story of Son Goku begins at Kakazan, which towers over the sea in Higashikatsu Shenzhu. One day, when the spirit stone at the top of Mt. Kaguo cracks, a stone egg the size of a kemari appears, and a stone monkey is born from it. This stone monkey, known as the son of the earth without a father or mother, was Son Goku, later known as King Bikou.

After his birth, he spent several hundred years in Kaguo Mountain as the king of the monkeys. After crying over the fragility of his life, he begins to search for a way to avoid his own death

In search of the art of eternal youth and longevity, Ishizaru becomes a disciple of the hermit Shubodi Soshi, who gives him the name "Son Goku", and through his training he masters the art of immortality.
Afterwards, he was summoned by the Emperor to live in the heavenly world, but he became dissatisfied with the position given to him and deserted. He is persuaded to return to the heavenly world, but this time he goes wild and does whatever he wants and ends up running back to Huaguo Mountain. His repeated outrages earned him the wrath of Heaven, and Son Goku was captured by Kensei Jiroshin-kun and sealed in the Gogyo Mountains by Shakyamuni Nyorai.

After 500 years, the seal is finally broken when Kannon Bodhisattva arranges for him to accompany Sanzang on his journey. After completing his long and arduous journey towards Tenjiku in search of sutras, he was given the thankful name of Buddha of Victory in Battle by Shakyamuni Tathagata, and attained the status of a Buddha.
In this way, the story of Son Goku in ``Journey to the West'' comes to a close, leading to the prologue of ``Black Myth: Goku'' in which he becomes the victorious Buddha and engages in a fierce battle with the heavenly messenger. .

A large number of monkeys lived in this mountain, and they worshiped Son Goku (King Bihu) as their absolute boss.
It was a fruitful mountain, but when Son Goku was sealed in the Gogyo Mountain, it was burned down by the army led by Kensei Jiroshin, leaving it in a desolate state. As a result of this, many of his henchmen died, and it is said that 500 years later, when Son Goku visited the land of Huaguo Mountain, he was saddened by the sight. There is also an anecdote that when he returned home, he reconstructed the mountain with his own hands and taught the surviving monkeys lessons.

・Subodhi Ancestor
The master who trained Son Goku in senjutsu. He gave the nameless stone monkey the name of Son Goku and welcomed him as his disciple. The founder secretly taught many immortal techniques to Son Goku, leaving his other disciples behind (the technique he taught was the 72 ways of transformation, the method of Zenguun). He seems to have taken good care of Son Goku as his disciple, but when he sees through Son Goku's bad temperament, he easily excommunicates him.

・Jiro Kensei
A person sent from the heavenly world to subjugate Son Goku, who goes on a rampage in the Ryugu, Chifu, and heavenly realms. He is said to be one of the strongest men in the heavens, is the nephew of the Emperor, and is beautiful and has a third eye on his forehead. He is not only skilled in martial arts, but also masters the art of transformation, and engages in a disguised battle with Son Goku. He is accompanied by a divine dog called Kotenken.

Upon receiving the order from the Emperor, he attacked Huaguo Mountain with the six Meishan brothers and a large number of divine soldiers, aiming to overthrow Son Goku. Even the strong Kensei Jiro Shin-kun cannot easily defeat Son Goku, and the battle is only antagonized and it is difficult to find a winner. ・Gogyoyama
A mountain where Son Goku was imprisoned for a long time after being captured by the heavens.
Originally, he was scheduled to be decapitated to atone for his sins, but because Son Goku's body was as hard as steel and blades, flames, and lightning had no effect on him, he was sealed in the Five Elements Mountains by the hands of Shakyamuni Tathagata. .
During the 500 years that Son Goku was sealed away, the local god of the land (Tochijin) was in charge of Son Goku. It is said that Shakyamuni Tathagata out of compassion ordered him to feed Son Goku, who was imprisoned in a mountain, an iron pill if he was about to starve, and to drink copper juice if he complained of thirst. It's better than starving, but molten copper juice... eh.

・Meihou King, Qitian Great Saint, Battle Victory Buddha
All are alternate names for Son Goku. Biho-o (Excellent Monkey King) was his nickname when he changed his job from a mere stone monkey to the Monkey King and ruled Kaguyama.

Qitian Great Sage (an outstanding person on the same level as Heaven) began to call himself a man with a rebellious spirit against the heavenly world. The Battle Victory Buddha is the name bestowed upon him by Shakyamuni Tathagata, giving him the status of immortal Buddha (with the blessed right to live in the heavens). If we were to interpret it positively, it would be a reward from heaven.

In addition to this, in ``Journey to the West'' there is also the title of ``Hitsuba-on'', the caretaker of the horses in the heavenly world, but it was for Son Goku that he was appointed Hiba-on, who had a lowly position. Due to its dark history, this name is rarely used.


Son Goku descends from a lush green mountain and jumps onto a cloud. When you pass through the intricate mountains and the view opens up, you will find a huge Buddhist deity and Kensei Jiro Shin-kun leading a horde of divine soldiers above the clouds. In this way, the prologue of ``Black Myth: Goku'' is colored by the fierce battle between Son Goku and Kensei Jiro Shinkun.

The course of the rivalry battle is changed by the sudden appearance of a ninja, and Son Goku, who was hit by a blow from Kensei Jiro Shinkun, disappears after that day...

In this way, what the old monkey told him was "the end of Son Goku's story." If you bring back the six spiritual treasures scattered across the four islands to Mt. Huaguo, the Great Saint will be resurrected - if you who are now embarking on this journey are truly returning to your destiny, this may come true. With a glimmer of hope, the old monkey entrusts the legend of the ``Great Saint's Six Roots'' to the young monkeys. In this way, the baton of the story is passed to the player, and the prologue of ``Black Myth: Goku'' comes to a close.

Why did the two decide to fight in the first place? To find out, it is necessary to know what Son Goku is to the heavenly side, and what heaven is to Son Goku.

It was unbearable for him to form a clique on Huaguo Mountain like in the past, so the heavenly side wanted to give him the status of Buddha and bind him to the Heavenly Palace.


For Son Goku, who has lived in the Heavenly Palace twice in the past, the heavenly world is a place with many bitter memories. Since he has escaped twice, it is easy to imagine that this is not a place he would want to return to. Even more so, considering the past of being sealed away in the Gogyo Mountains for 500 years by Heaven's sole control, it is only natural that one would want to leave the Heavenly World, which threatens one's freedom.

That's why it may have been a great nuisance for Son Goku to be given the title of Victorious Buddha as an excuse to bind him to the heavenly world.

The fight with Jiro Kensei is a revenge match

Son Goku fought against Kensei Jiro Shinkun in the past and was defeated. The prologue battle is, so to speak, a revenge match for Son Goku, and the content is actually quite intense. Not only the one-versus-many format, but also the development that resembles the previous fierce battle, which is full of respect for ``Journey to the West.''

The fierce battle between the two in ``Journey to the West'' begins with a heated sword fight, followed by a breathless monster battle, and in the end, Son Goku is defeated by Taisho no Kimi. This time as well, perhaps following the same trend, Kinshoji blocked Son Goku's movements and brought victory to Kensei Jiro Shinkun. Knowing the original story, I was so excited that I thought, ``This is just like the battle I saw in Journey to the West!''

Why did the child who was supposed to have disappeared come back? Did Kensei Jiro Shinkun chant the sutra, or was it the work of someone watching from heaven?
