Qualcomm has expanded the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 series with a new entry-level option. To recap, the company already offers the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 to OEMs, which has been delivered in devices like the Honor 200 and OnePlus Nord 4. This time, it has introduced the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, specifications of which leaked earlier today through Evan Blass.
Like the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 before it, which powers the likes of the Razr 50 Ultra (curr. $899.99 on Amazon), the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 shares some hardware with theSnapdragon 7 Gen 3. For example, the former relies on the same TSMC N4P node as the latter. While Qualcomm has not confirmed GPU or NPU specifics yet, it has outlined that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 utilises the following CPU cores:
Nonetheless, Qualcomm only claims that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 has a 30% faster CPU than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, as well as a 40% faster GPU, 30% better AI performance and 12% lower power consumption. Moreover, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 boasts Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, along with a triple 12-bit Spectra ISP and support for LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 6,400 MT/s with 25.6 GB/s bandwidth or LPDDR4X-4266 RAM that peaks at 17 GB/s.
As it stands, no Android OEM has officially confirmed that it intends to use the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in any future smartphone. However, there have been rumours that Xiaomi will source the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 for the Redmi Note 14 Pro, which could land next month. Accordingly, Qualcomm has suggested that it expects 'Realme, Samsung, Sharp and Xiaomi' to adopt its latest Snapdragon 7 series chipset 'in the coming months'.
