1. Choose any network port of the optical modem and connect it to the WAN port of the wireless router with a network cable.
2. The default address of the optical modem is 192.168.1.1, so the LAN port of the wireless router needs to be assigned the address of other network segments.
Configuration method: First log in to the management interface of the wireless router. Enter the default login IP address (usually 192.168.1.1) in the browser, then enter the username and password to log in. Once logged in successfully, find the Network Settings or LAN Settings option. In the IP settings, change the IP address to 192.168.2.1 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. After saving the settings, connect a computer to any LAN port of the wireless router through a network cable. Next, open the IE browser, enter the IP address just configured (i.e. 192.168.2.1), and then log in again. Now that you have successfully logged in to the management interface of the wireless router, you can perform further settings and configurations. Please note that the above steps are based on the TP-LINK wireless router as an example. Routers of different brands may have slight differences. For specific operations, please refer to the corresponding user manual or the help document of the official website.
3. The network parameters set by the WAN port of the wireless router need to be fine-tuned. Select static IP in the WAN port settings, set the IP address to 192.168.1.X, and ensure that it is in the same network segment as the optical modem’s IP address 192.168.1.1.
Note: This cannot be set to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.255) Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: The IP of the optical modem is 192.168.1.1 - Packet MTU: 1500 - DNS server: set to The IP of the optical modem is 192.168.1.1.
After completing the above 3 steps, you can access the Internet through the router. Finally, wireless parameters need to be set. In the basic settings of wireless parameters, you can choose an SSID number as the name of the wireless network and check to enable the wireless function. At the same time, SSID broadcast needs to be allowed so that other devices can discover the network. In order to protect network security, you need to turn on security settings and set a password as a network access credential.
5. Enable DHCP server, which is enabled by default.
6. Modify the wireless router login password: System Tools-Modify Login Password-Customize Settings.
7. Restart the router, and you can access the Internet both wired and wirelessly.
The Telecom fiber optic connection router requires a fiber optic modem transfer. The method for setting up the connection between the router and the 2113 Telecom fiber optic modem is as follows:
1. Plug the output line of the Telecom Broadband Modem into the WAN port of the broadband router, and use a straight-through twisted pair network cable to connect the router LAN port to the computer network card.
2. Start the power supply of Telecom broadband modem and router.
3. In the address bar of the computer's IE browser window, enter 192.168.1.1 and hit "Go" to open the 1653 dialog box where you need to enter your user name and password.
4. Enter "admin" in the user name and password text boxes respectively, confirm, and open the configuration interface of the device.
5. In the routing network connection wizard, select "WAN port" and "PPPOE protocol" (be careful not to select dynamic or static), then enter the telecom broadband account and password, and select: automatic dialing in the advanced options.
6. After the configuration is completed, turn off the power of the router and then restart it.
This can use the bridging function of routing. The setting method is as follows:
1. Enter 192.168.1.1 in the browser and the default account password is admin (it is on the router nameplate, it may be different for different brands);
2. Find "Wireless Settings", "Basic Settings" and check "Enable WDS";
3. After turning on WDS, click "Scan" to find the name of the Telecom Optical Cat WiFi signal and connect. Fill in the key of Telecom Optical Mode’s wifi password;
4. Find "Network Parameters" → "LAN Port Settings" and set the IP to 192.168.1.2. Of course, it can also be set to other values, as long as it is not 192.168.1.1;
5. Find "DHCP Server" and select "Disable";
6. After the above steps, the wireless router can also access the Internet. At this time, the wireless network is open and no password is set. The password can be set through "Wireless Security Settings" in "Wireless Settings".
