Java uses the interrupted() function of the Thread class to determine whether the current thread has been interrupted

In Java multi-thread programming, interruption is a common thread communication mechanism. A thread can send an interrupt signal to another thread by calling the interrupt() method. The thread that receives the interrupt signal can decide how to respond to the interrupt. The Thread class in Java provides the interrupted() method for determining whether the current thread is interrupted.

interrupted() method is a static method that returns a Boolean value. When this method is called, it will determine whether the current thread is interrupted and clear the interruption status, that is, reset the interruption status to false. If the thread has been interrupted before calling the interrupted() method, the interrupted() method will return true; otherwise, it will return false.

The following is a simple example to illustrate the use of the interrupted() method:

In the above example, we created an implementation of Runnable Class of interface InterruptExample. In the run() method, we use a loop to simulate the tasks performed by the thread. After each task is executed, the thread will be paused for 1 second through the Thread.sleep() method. Before each task is executed, we determine whether the thread is interrupted by calling the Thread.interrupted() method. If so, an InterruptedException exception is thrown.

In the main() method, we create a new thread and use the start() method to start the thread. Then, the main thread pauses for 5 seconds and calls the interrupt() method to send an interrupt signal to the new thread. Through this example, we can observe the following points:

  1. The thread will execute the task 10 times in the run() method.
  2. If a thread is interrupted during the execution of a task, it will immediately stop execution and throw an InterruptedException exception.
  3. If the thread is interrupted before calling the Thread.interrupted() method, then the Thread.interrupted() method will return true.
  4. After calling the Thread.interrupted() method, the thread's interrupt status will be reset to false.

By using the interrupted() method, we can easily determine whether the current thread is interrupted and handle it accordingly when appropriate. But it should be noted that when a thread is interrupted, it will not stop execution immediately, but will wait until the next interruptible state (such as wait(), sleep() , join()) will stop when it appears. Therefore, when writing multi-threaded code, we should reasonably design the interrupt handling logic in the thread to ensure that the thread can safely stop and release resources.
