Kingsoft released a new version of “Light Document” on April 18, which has AI capabilities such as knowledge analysis, content generation and text processing. This release is the first complete demonstration of the Microsoft Copilot-like capabilities of major office components.

However, these abilities will be launched in the overseas version first. According to the news obtained by 36Kr from Kingsoft Office, WPS AI is actively promoting the work of complying with domestic regulations, but the official launch time has not yet been determined. As of press time, Kingsoft Office’s share price has risen slightly to 419 yuan.

The new AI capabilities announced this time focus on reading comprehension, question and answer, human-computer interaction, etc. On PPT, WPS AI now supports inputting themes, generating PPT presentations with one click, and will make detailed adjustments according to user requirements, such as changing theme styles, beautifying single pages, changing fonts, changing colors, generating speech notes, etc.

The Excel section will first be launched in the overseas version, and users are currently conducting small-scale trials.

Similar to Copilot, users only need to ask questions directly to the WPS assistant - for example, "What is the product with the highest sales volume?" to get the analysis results.

In addition, users can also directly give the assistant the ability to call formulas, functions, etc. to automatically generate relevant charts. WPS AI can determine the user's intention and automatically complete calculations and operations.

In PDF, WPS demonstrates reading analysis and comprehension skills. Through WPS AI, users can use question and answer methods to obtain key information in documents including papers, contracts, courseware, etc. The Q&A Assistant also provides a document traceability function to ensure that users can know the source of information.

Using mobile devices, users can capture relevant documents, and then WPS provides corresponding translation, summary and analysis functions. In an official demo, WPS AI was able to identify contract loopholes and provide relevant legal advice.
