Apple releases macOS 12.2 beta 2 for developers
Three weeks since macOS 12.2 beta first rolled out to developers and public testers, the second version of the software is now available to developers. The macOS 12.2 beta comes with a new native Music app and improved scrolling in Safari with ProMotion on MacBook Pro.
The second macOS 12.2 beta (build number 21D5039d) is now available for developers on Apple’s developer website. The OTA should also start rolling out to those who signed up for the beta soon.
The first macOS 12.2 beta comes with a new native Apple Music app. As we mentioned before:
Certain parts of the Music app are already native, such as the Music Library. But now Mac users will notice that searching for new songs in Apple Music is much faster because the results page is displayed in a native interface instead of a web page. With the beta app, scrolling between elements has also become smoother, and trackpad gestures are now more responsive.
Comparing the two apps side by side, the Beta Music app may look simpler but lacks some interface polish - this may be because Apple is rebuilding everything and the native version takes a while to restore everything these visual effects.
The macOS 12.2 beta also improves scrolling in Safari with ProMotion on the new MacBook Pro.
