The following column Laravel Tutorial will introduce you to Laravel’s new release schedule (it will be updated once a year after 2021). I hope it will be helpful to friends who need it. Helps!

Over the past 4 years, Laravel has released a new "major" version every 6 months. Prior to the adoption of the Semantic Versioning standard, the second digit of the Laravel version number was changed every 6 months. With the adoption of semantic versioning, the first number in Laravel's version number changes every 6 months. However, throughout this transition, while the pace of the release cycle has remained the same, many users feel that Laravel releases are being released more frequently.
Over the past 4 years, Laravel has gradually matured and solidified its position as the development framework of choice for most PHP developers. With more and more businesses and individuals using Laravel for development, I felt now was a good time to update our release schedule to reduce the maintenance burden on our community.
So starting now, Laravel will move from a 6-month major release cycle to a 12-month release cycle. Because Laravel 8.0 was released in September 2020, Laravel 9.0 (LTS) will not be released until September 2021. Laravel 10.0 will be released in September 2022, and so on.
Due to this decision, we decided to port parallel testing (a major feature of the 9.0 version) to Laravel 8.0 so that our users can take advantage of it immediately. The feature was released today.
This new release cycle will not only reduce the maintenance burden on our community and relieve you of the pressure of being "behind", it will also challenge us as Laravel developers to achieve this without breaking backwards compatibility High value, amazing features so we can get them to you as quickly as possible.
These changes have been reflected in our support policy document.
Longtime Laravel community member Matt Stauffer has created a very helpful website to help you visualize current and upcoming Laravel releases and Its support/maintenance period: laravelversions.com/
If you are running an older version of Laravel and want to take advantage of all the latest features in Laravel 8, you can use LaravelShift to automate the upgrade process: https: //laravelshift.com.
