Netdata 1.25.0 is released. Netdata is a Linux performance real-time monitoring tool. The new version enhances the scope of metrics collected by the universal Prometheus/OpenMetrics collector and enhances storage and query capabilities with a new multi-host database mode.

The v1.25.0 release focuses on improving the overall availability of Netdata. The development team has added more customization in how the Prometheus collector implemented in v1.24 can meaningfully visualize metrics. We also made some bug fixes and ensured that core Netdata Agent functionality, such as ACLK, works more efficiently.

This release contains 1 new collector, 27 improvements, 15 documentation updates, and 59 bug fixes.

Improved filtering and grouping capabilities of the Prometheus collector give users greater flexibility when Netdata collects and visualizes metrics for more than 600 Prometheus endpoints. The team also made significant improvements to the robustness and responsiveness of the Agent-Cloud link (ACLK), which is used to stream metrics and alarm status if a user registers for Netdata Cloud and claims a node.

The process of disconnecting and reconnecting is now more reliable, and all metric data is now Gzip compressed. Payloads are also smaller and processed faster, and users will see improved responsiveness when viewing dashboards in Netdata Cloud. In addition, this version also adds a new Elasticsearch collector written in Go language to help users collect metrics and monitor from Elasticsearch instances.
