How to install centos from USB flash drive?
1. Download the latest version of centos (currently centos 7.6)
https://www.centos.org/download/
Since I am installing the server, I chose Minimal ISO (only more than 900 MB)
2. Make a Centos installation disk ( Prepare a blank U disk of more than 1GB)
2.1. Install UltraISO
2.2. After the installation is complete, click Trial
2.3. Click on the file and select Open
2.4. Find the folder where the Centos7 package is located, select the Centos7 package, and click to open
## 2.5. Insert the prepared U disk 2.6. Click Start in the top menu and choose to write the hard disk image ps: Note that it is a hard disk, not a floppy disk 2.7. Select your U disk as the hard drive, and the writing method is usb hdd 2.8. Click Write (after writing is completed, find your own U disk icon) Remember the text marked in red (LABEL information), it will be very useful later. The LABEL information here is ISO’s LABEL information, which can be modified in step 2.4. If the LABEL information is modified to be less than 11 digits in step 2.4, there is no need to read the subsequent steps. , can be installed directly from the U disk; Windows system limits the length of LABEL to 11, and the extra part is truncated, so the LABEL of the U disk only has "CentOS 7 x8" 11 bits
3. Installation
3.1. Insert the U disk into the computer (preferably the USB port at the back, some computers’ front USB ports do not support U disk booting) 3.2. Enter the BIOS interface of the computer, and set it to boot from the U disk, and then restart 3.3. If the settings are correct and the U disk is produced without problems, the following interface will pop up: 3.4. According to the interface prompts, press e to edit and enter the following interface: Key instructions: "LABEL=Centos\x207\x20x\86_64 quiet" here refers to the LABEL of the USB flash drive (see step 2.8 for details). If the LABEL here does not match step 2.8, the installation will not be possible, so you need to delete part of it. Information, delete the extra "6_64" to ensure that the LABEL of the USB flash drive in step 2.8 is consistent with the LABEL of this one; some friends reported that no problems will occur after adding nomodeset. You can try it according to the actual situation.##centOS tutorial
