HomeDatabaseMysql TutorialInstall centos for the first time and perform some basic configurations

After you install CentOs for the first time, you still need to do some things to better use the operating system.

Close selinux

selinux is a software that is indeed very powerful, but it is too complicated, and it also overrides root. His limits cannot be exceeded. Therefore, we usually close him. The method to turn it off is very simple. Find the configuration file

vi /etc/sysconfig/selinux

and change enforcing to disabled.

Turn off the firewall

It is generally recommended to turn off the firewall function when learning to use centOS. Of course, it's another matter if you know how to use a firewall. If the firewall is not turned off, the external ports of the server, such as 80 and 443, will not be open. Turning off the firewall is also very simple, just follow the following commands:

systemctl stop firewalld
systemctl disable firewalld
systemctl stop iptables
systemctl disable iptables

The disable option means that the software will still be closed when you restart next time.

Configure static IP

First find the configuration file, CentOS is usually in /etc/sysconfit/network-scripts/ifcfg-etho

DEVICE=eth0
HWADDR=00:0C:29:F5:1D:6A
TYPE=Ethernet
UUID=8f49ebc2-5b1b-4135-863b-6acb0c84453f
ONBOOT=yes
NM_CONTROLLED=yes
BOOTPROTO=static
IPADDR=192.168.179.13
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY=192.168.179.2
DNS1=192.168.179.2

There are a few things to note

  • BOOTPROTO needs to be set to static, which means static ip

  • ONBOOT needs to be set to ON, which means it is turned on .

  • IPADDR represents the ip address

  • NETMASK represents the subnet mask

  • GATEWAY represents the gateway address ,

  • DNS, if you want to connect to the external network, you need to set up DNS.

After setting up, restart the network card and test whether it is normal.

/etc/init.d/network restart

Use the ping command to ping the gateway address and external network address respectively to see if they are normal.

Set the language

Sometimes after installing the Linux system, the language may be Chinese. It is recommended to change it to English. Many Chinese explanations is not accurate. In addition, it may have an impact on your writing of shell scripts.

Check the languages supported by the system

# locale -a
aa_DJ
aa_DJ.iso88591
aa_DJ.utf8
aa_ER
aa_ER@saaho
aa_ER.utf8
……

Check the language currently used

# echo $LANG
en_US.UTF-8

You can see that the language currently used by my server is en_US.UTF-8 . This is also the language family I recommend.

Modify the language at zero time

LANG=zh_CN.UTF-8

Permanently modify the language, find the configuration file

vim /etc/locale.conf

Then, change to the language you want

Install gcc, wget and other software

In Centos, yum is used to install software online, but the premise is that there is no problem with your yum source. Generally speaking, the yum of newly installed systems is normal. Common yum sources are Alibaba and NetEase. With the tool yum, installing software is very simple.

yum install gcc wget git

Then keep typing y and that’s it.

Explain the InnoDB Buffer Pool and its importance for performance.Explain the InnoDB Buffer Pool and its importance for performance.Apr 19, 2025 am 12:24 AM

InnoDBBufferPool reduces disk I/O by caching data and indexing pages, improving database performance. Its working principle includes: 1. Data reading: Read data from BufferPool; 2. Data writing: After modifying the data, write to BufferPool and refresh it to disk regularly; 3. Cache management: Use the LRU algorithm to manage cache pages; 4. Reading mechanism: Load adjacent data pages in advance. By sizing the BufferPool and using multiple instances, database performance can be optimized.

MySQL vs. Other Programming Languages: A ComparisonMySQL vs. Other Programming Languages: A ComparisonApr 19, 2025 am 12:22 AM

Compared with other programming languages, MySQL is mainly used to store and manage data, while other languages such as Python, Java, and C are used for logical processing and application development. MySQL is known for its high performance, scalability and cross-platform support, suitable for data management needs, while other languages have advantages in their respective fields such as data analytics, enterprise applications, and system programming.

Learning MySQL: A Step-by-Step Guide for New UsersLearning MySQL: A Step-by-Step Guide for New UsersApr 19, 2025 am 12:19 AM

MySQL is worth learning because it is a powerful open source database management system suitable for data storage, management and analysis. 1) MySQL is a relational database that uses SQL to operate data and is suitable for structured data management. 2) The SQL language is the key to interacting with MySQL and supports CRUD operations. 3) The working principle of MySQL includes client/server architecture, storage engine and query optimizer. 4) Basic usage includes creating databases and tables, and advanced usage involves joining tables using JOIN. 5) Common errors include syntax errors and permission issues, and debugging skills include checking syntax and using EXPLAIN commands. 6) Performance optimization involves the use of indexes, optimization of SQL statements and regular maintenance of databases.

MySQL is suitable for beginners to learn database skills. 1. Install MySQL server and client tools. 2. Understand basic SQL queries, such as SELECT. 3. Master data operations: create tables, insert, update, and delete data. 4. Learn advanced skills: subquery and window functions. 5. Debugging and optimization: Check syntax, use indexes, avoid SELECT*, and use LIMIT.

MySQL: Structured Data and Relational DatabasesMySQL: Structured Data and Relational DatabasesApr 18, 2025 am 12:22 AM

MySQL efficiently manages structured data through table structure and SQL query, and implements inter-table relationships through foreign keys. 1. Define the data format and type when creating a table. 2. Use foreign keys to establish relationships between tables. 3. Improve performance through indexing and query optimization. 4. Regularly backup and monitor databases to ensure data security and performance optimization.

mPDF

mPDF

mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
