PHP 7.0.0 Alpha 1 released

The PHP development team announced that PHP 7.0.0 Alpha1 will be available immediately. This release marks the beginning of the main PHP 7 series. All PHP users are encouraged to test this version carefully and report all bugs and incompatibilities in the bug tracking system. (Recommended Learning: PHP Video Tutorial)

This is a development preview - DO NOT use it for production!

PHP 7.0.0 Alpha 1 comes with a new version of Zend Engine with the following features: (Incomplete list):

Improved performance of: PHP 7 Runs twice as fast as PHP 5.6

Consistent 64-bit support

Many fatal errors are now exceptions

Remove old and unsupported SAPI and extensions

Empty coalescing operator (??)

Combined comparison operator (<=>)

Return type declaration

Scalar type declaration

Anonymous Class
