National Computer Rank Examination

The National Computer Rank Examination (NCRE) is Approved by the former National Education Commission (now the Ministry of Education) and sponsored by the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education, it is a national computer proficiency examination system for the society and used to test candidates' computer application knowledge and skills.

Candidates are not restricted by age, occupation, academic background and other backgrounds. Anyone can choose the corresponding level and subject based on their own learning situation and actual ability. Candidates can bring their valid ID documents to the nearest test center to register. The specific time for registration for each examination is stipulated by the provincial (autonomous region, municipality) level undertaking agency.

Since the examination was launched in 1994, NCRE has adapted to the needs of the development of the market economy. The examination has continued to develop, and the number of candidates has increased year by year. By the end of 2017, the cumulative number of candidates exceeded 76 million, and the cumulative number of certificate holders was nearly 29 million.

The NCRE examination adopts the form of a national unified proposition and a unified examination. Four exams are scheduled each year. Examinations are generally scheduled in March, June, September and December. In March and September, all subjects at all levels will be tested, and in June and December, all subjects at Level 1 and Level 2 will be tested.

The current "National Computer Grade Examination Syllabus (2018 Edition)" is the latest version of the syllabus, which has been implemented since March 2018.

The 2019 National Computer Rank Examination (NCRE) will hold four exams, from March 30 to April 1 (54th), June 1 (55th), 9 From January 21st to 23rd (the 56th time) and December 7th (the 57th time). The exams in March and September will take all subjects at all levels, and the exams in June and December will take all first and second-level subjects. Each provincial-level organization can decide whether to hold exams in June and December based on actual conditions.
