How to use string objects in JavaScript: First use new to create a string object; then give a suitable object name; finally pass the string "hello world" as a parameter and output it.

How to use string objects in JavaScript

The operating environment of this article: windows7 system, javascript version 1.8.5, Dell G3 computer.

Built-in functions refer to objects prepared in advance by JavaScript. The String object is a built-in function that can be used to process strings. The following article will introduce to you the use of string objects in JavaScript. method.

First of all, let’s take a brief look at the representative built-in functions

String: Processing strings

Number: Processing numbers

Boolean: Processing logical values

Array: Processing arrays

Date: Processing dates

Math: Processing through numerical calculations

Built-in function represents starting from the beginning The content of the function has already been determined, so there is no need to define it again, just execute it, which is very convenient.

When using built-in objects, we use new to create objects, as shown below.

var 对象名称= new object();

Let’s actuallyCreate a string object

We give the appropriate object name and use the string hello world as a parameter Pass it and then output it

var s = new String("hello world");

Note: Don’t forget to enclose it with "" or '' when outputting the string.

Let’s look at the specific code

 <!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
</body>
</html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>JavaScript</title>
</head>
<body>
<script>
  var s=new String("hello world");
</script>
</body>
</html>

After creation, let’s call it using console.log.

Let’s call the properties of the string object

The properties of the string object have the following three properties

Attribute 1 .length (the output length of the string)

Confirm the calling method of the object property.

If you continue to use the attribute name with "." in the variable name, you can call the attribute value.

<script>
var s = new String(&quot;hello world&quot;);
console.log(s.length);
</script>

You can see the following figure in the console

How to use string objects in JavaScript

Since the number of characters in hello world is 11 characters, the output is " 11". (Spaces are also included)

Attribute 2. charAt (get the number of characters from the left and output it)

<script>
var s=new String("hello world");
console.log(s.charAt(1));
</script>

You can see it in the console as shown below

#We specified the first character, so it appears as e. (The number of characters starts from 0)

Attribute 3.replace (replace character)

<script>
var s=new String("hello world");
console.log(s.replace("world","php中文网"));
</script>

You can see it in the console as shown below

replace can replace the string, and world is replaced by php Chinese network.

Python vs. JavaScript: The Learning Curve and Ease of UsePython vs. JavaScript: The Learning Curve and Ease of UseApr 16, 2025 am 12:12 AM

Python is more suitable for beginners, with a smooth learning curve and concise syntax; JavaScript is suitable for front-end development, with a steep learning curve and flexible syntax. 1. Python syntax is intuitive and suitable for data science and back-end development. 2. JavaScript is flexible and widely used in front-end and server-side programming.

Python vs. JavaScript: Community, Libraries, and ResourcesPython vs. JavaScript: Community, Libraries, and ResourcesApr 15, 2025 am 12:16 AM

Python and JavaScript have their own advantages and disadvantages in terms of community, libraries and resources. 1) The Python community is friendly and suitable for beginners, but the front-end development resources are not as rich as JavaScript. 2) Python is powerful in data science and machine learning libraries, while JavaScript is better in front-end development libraries and frameworks. 3) Both have rich learning resources, but Python is suitable for starting with official documents, while JavaScript is better with MDNWebDocs. The choice should be based on project needs and personal interests.

From C/C to JavaScript: How It All WorksFrom C/C to JavaScript: How It All WorksApr 14, 2025 am 12:05 AM

The shift from C/C to JavaScript requires adapting to dynamic typing, garbage collection and asynchronous programming. 1) C/C is a statically typed language that requires manual memory management, while JavaScript is dynamically typed and garbage collection is automatically processed. 2) C/C needs to be compiled into machine code, while JavaScript is an interpreted language. 3) JavaScript introduces concepts such as closures, prototype chains and Promise, which enhances flexibility and asynchronous programming capabilities.

JavaScript Engines: Comparing ImplementationsJavaScript Engines: Comparing ImplementationsApr 13, 2025 am 12:05 AM

Different JavaScript engines have different effects when parsing and executing JavaScript code, because the implementation principles and optimization strategies of each engine differ. 1. Lexical analysis: convert source code into lexical unit. 2. Grammar analysis: Generate an abstract syntax tree. 3. Optimization and compilation: Generate machine code through the JIT compiler. 4. Execute: Run the machine code. V8 engine optimizes through instant compilation and hidden class, SpiderMonkey uses a type inference system, resulting in different performance performance on the same code.

Beyond the Browser: JavaScript in the Real WorldBeyond the Browser: JavaScript in the Real WorldApr 12, 2025 am 12:06 AM

JavaScript's applications in the real world include server-side programming, mobile application development and Internet of Things control: 1. Server-side programming is realized through Node.js, suitable for high concurrent request processing. 2. Mobile application development is carried out through ReactNative and supports cross-platform deployment. 3. Used for IoT device control through Johnny-Five library, suitable for hardware interaction.

JavaScript: Exploring the Versatility of a Web LanguageJavaScript: Exploring the Versatility of a Web LanguageApr 11, 2025 am 12:01 AM

JavaScript is the core language of modern web development and is widely used for its diversity and flexibility. 1) Front-end development: build dynamic web pages and single-page applications through DOM operations and modern frameworks (such as React, Vue.js, Angular). 2) Server-side development: Node.js uses a non-blocking I/O model to handle high concurrency and real-time applications. 3) Mobile and desktop application development: cross-platform development is realized through ReactNative and Electron to improve development efficiency.
