Unlocking the Grappling Hook
The grappling hook becomes available during the game's second half. Completing the "Find a Friend" quest unlocks it. This quest begins in Braer Castle, the concluding dungeon of the game's second act.
Within the castle, navigate to the Rooftop Terrace. There, you'll encounter Killashandra, who will reveal her missing companion, Rikter. Your task is to locate him.
Rikter is found in Lochmuir Village's southern area. Descend two levels and unlock the door on the isolated platform using the boathouse key provided by Killashandra. Cross the water using the platform outside the boathouse, defeat the awaiting boss, and examine Rikter's remains. Return to Killashandra to receive your reward: the grappling hook.
Using the Grappling Hook
To use the grappling hook, jump and hold the dodge button near a grappling point. This launches the hook in your facing direction. A successful connection allows you to swing across gaps.
Some anchors are on vertical walls. In these instances, continue holding the dodge button to climb the wall. Mastering both techniques is essential for completing Braer Castle and confronting the final boss.
