Fish is often plentiful if you live on an island, and it's the same in Luma Island. Like other cozy games, you'll be able to catch a variety of fish for collection purposes and to use in different cooking recipes, along with different aquatic plants and sea life like Crabs.

Not only is fishing a core mechanic in general, but it's also important to both the Fisherman and Treasure Hunter Professions if you choose to get a permit for them. Whether it's for your profession or fun, we'll tell you how to catch fish, where to find them all, and what you can do with them.
How To Catch Fish

To catch any fish or certain types of sea creatures, you'll need a Fishing Rod equipped with the right regional bait, like Caterpillars for farm or town-based fish.
First, cast your rod out to or near the fish's location in the water and a yellow exclamation point will appear above the fish's head if you're in its attention range.
Each fish has a particular swimming pattern that it follows in the water source it's located in, such as circling or making tight turns around obstacles.

After a second, the fish will bite, and you'll get into the fishing minigame. During this portion, you'll need to follow the fish around with your bobber while avoiding any obstacles. When you're close enough to the fish, a gray indicator with a hook will appear above its head.
As you keep up with it, the catching indicator will flash quicker, and more will appear at one time until you hit the reeling portion, then you'll need to rapidly click to bring the fish over to you and successfully catch it.
Wait for the fish at certain points in their swimming routine where you get the most time available without it being near an obstacle to make it easier to catch them.
The more your Fishing Rod is upgraded, the quicker it'll move, and it'll be easier to maneuver around obstacles like rocks while chasing a fish, and the time needed to reel in a fish will be drastically reduced.
How To Catch Sea Creatures And Aquatic Plants

Besides fish and what you can forage or catch from around water sources, you can find a handful of other types of sea life that are used in different Fisherman or Cooking Profession recipes: Jellyfish, Stingray, and Squid.
You still need a Fishing Rod and Bait to catch them, and they can be found in any of its home region's water sources, but they can only be caught in spots without bubbles, and you can't have a fish nearby or else it'll be attracted instead.
You can also find materials like Hay, Stones, Ores, and Twigs when fishing from empty water, and these will be instantly caught instead of needing to be reeled in.
As for aquatic plants and land-based sea creatures like Mussels, they spawn along any of their home region's rivers, lakes, and beaches, and you can harvest them by hand like forageable items. These types will respawn as the day goes on, and each time a new day starts.
How To Catch Treasure

Your fishing rod is also going to be used to catch treasure for Pirate-related recipes if you're going for the Treasure Hunter profession.
Instead of bait, you'll be using different types of magnets. A single metal bar makes ten of its specific magnets, and they can be equipped via the bait menu.
The type of treasure you can get is both magnet and region-specific. For example, if you use a Moonstone Magnet to fish at your farm or in town, you'll still only get Sunken Farm Treasure, not the Forest or the Mountain type.
You can use higher-tier magnets to catch lower-tier treasure, but you can't use lower-tier magnets to catch higher-tier treasure.

All Fisherman Profession Recipes

The majority of Fish, Sea Creatures, and Aquatic Plants are used in the Fisherman's Profession as recipe ingredients in the Fisherman's Galley, alongside regional Spice variations made in a Kiln from their respective forageables and Salt.
- Farm Spice is made from Farm Flowers, Farm Mushrooms, and Salt.
- Forest Spice is made from Forest Flowers, Forest Mushrooms, and Salt.
- Mountain Spice is made from Mountain Flowers, Mountain Mushrooms, and Salt.
All Fisherman's Galley recipes past the Novice Level require a certain amount of Luma Energy to craft at first, but after making them for the first time, they'll no longer need Luma Energy to be made.
The amount of Luma Energy needed for each recipe may vary over time due to balance patches ensuring the cost isn't too great compared to when you get access to them.

mPDF
mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
