Toyota's global sales in February fell 7% year-on-year to 719,600 units

Toyota Motor today announced global production, sales and export data for February. It is reported that Toyota’s global sales for the month were 719,630 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 7%. This was the first year-on-year decline since January 2023.

Among them, domestic sales in Japan were 103,946 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 33%, lower than the previous year for 2 consecutive months; overseas sales were slightly reduced, to 615,684 vehicles. Sales in North America were 214,189 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 19%; in China, due to factors such as the Spring Festival holiday and intensified sales competition among companies, sales in the month were 83,332 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 36%.

In terms of production, Toyota's global production was also lower than in previous years for the first time since December 2022 - 737,178 vehicles were produced in the month, a year-on-year decrease of 3%.

According to Nikkei reports, Toyota's subsidiaries Daihatsu Industrial and Toyota Automatic Looming Machinery stopped shipments due to certification violations, resulting in a significant reduction in Toyota's sales in Japan and a negative impact.
