Viticci today launched Apple Frames version 2.1 for the Shortcuts app, starting with an improved update process:

Starting with Apple Frames 2.1, the Shortcuts app will detect if you are in iCloud Drive When an older version of Frames.json is installed, it will automatically replace it with the latest version from the MacStories CDN. That’s all. If an older version of the Frames.json file is found, Shortcuts will notify you and re-download the file from cdn.macstories.net. (You must grant permission at least once for the "Show Notification" and "Get URL Content" actions.)

This also means that Viticci can continuously update the Frames.json dictionary without the user having to manually update and Move files. Apple Frames” shortcut now supports the latest MacBook Pro, Apple Watch, and more

In addition to support for the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops and Apple Watch Series 7, you can choose whether you want your screenshots to be placed on Midnight or Starlight Watch models.

It’s worth noting that Apple decided not to offer 40mm Apple Watch Series 7 bezels, so Apple Frames can create screenshots using 45mm Series 7 screenshots.

There is nothing I can do about the missing bezels on the 40mm Apple Watch Series 7 and I would like to support it in my Apple Frames shortcut. If you agree with me, please let Apple know these bezels would be welcome. (And I really don’t understand Apple’s reasoning here. After all, they offer multiple bezels for different iPad and iPhone screen sizes.)

The update also supports Chinese and Czech, as well as support for Bug fix for MacBook Air and iPad mini screenshot issues.
