Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Zoroark, its evolved form, have officially arrived in Pokémon Go!

These Hisuian forms are slightly more challenging to catch than others due to their unique ability to disguise themselves… Nevertheless, if you're aiming to complete your Pokémon Go Pokédex, it's definitely worth tracking them down!

How to get Hisuian Zorua in Pokémon Go

Hisuian Zorua first appeared in Pokémon Go in July 2025 as part of the Hisui Celebration event.

The most straightforward way to encounter Hisuian Zorua is by spotting it in the wild. However, be aware that Hisuian Zorua disguises itself as your buddy Pokémon, so you won't see it appear directly. Instead, watch for your buddy's form appearing in the wild. Once you catch it, it will reveal itself as Hisuian Zorua.

Once you've caught at least one Hisuian Zorua, you can use this trick to your benefit! Set Hisuian Zorua as your buddy Pokémon, and any wild Hisuian Zorua should appear as your current buddy (since it copies your buddy's appearance).

As shown in the screenshots below, I encountered a Frigibax, which was my current buddy Pokémon. But after catching it, it transformed back into Hisuian Zorua.

Bear in mind that both challenges involve evolving Pokémon, which may take some time to finish. For that reason, we still suggest hunting for Hisuian Zorua in the wild.

Because we don’t yet know how often Hisuian Zorua will appear once the Hisui Celebration ends, we strongly advise catching at least one before the event finishes. This way, you’ll be able to evolve it into Hisuian Zoroark later on!

You can now battle Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles — but first, you'll need to gather Max Particles by visiting Power Spots and completing the To the Max! quest. Don’t forget to make use of Routes, Gift Exchange, and Party Play while searching for rare Pokémon, battling in the Go Battle League, or participating in PokéStop Showcases.

How to evolve Hisuian Zorua into Hisuian Zoroark in Pokémon Go

To evolve Hisuian Zorua into Hisuian Zoroark in Pokémon Go, you’ll need 50 Zorua Candy.

This requirement is the same as for regular Zorua. Since Zorua has been in the game for some time, you might already have enough spare Candy to perform the evolution right away. If not, remember to use Pinap Berries when catching Hisuian Zorua (which disguises as your buddy) to maximize Candy gains. You can also assign Hisuian Zorua as your buddy to collect Candy passively.
