Baldur's Gate 3 is notable for its seemingly infinite possibilities and outcomes, as each choice deeply impacts how the story unfolds and its ultimate conclusion. This also applies to your allies, who'll have their destinies shaped by your choices throughout your adventures, and may end up walking a completely different path from their original goals.
Wyll, the Blade of Frontiers is a perfect example. Initially tasked with killing a certain "demon", the young Ravengard's very existence may be forever changed. Whenever you choose to bring him as your loyal Companion, the outcomes for our favorite goody-two-shoes Warlock are numerous. Giving him that horny look is just the beginning.
As he has no interest in bloodshed, Wyll leaves your party if you choose to attack the Emerald Grove with Minthara. He'll usually try to warn the Grove, but stays with the party if you convince him this is a trap for the Goblins.
If you still choose to betray the Tieflings with him in your party, Wyll turns hostile and you're forced to kill him. If he's at your camp during the attack instead, he'll leave during the Goblin's celebration party.
Similarly, if you never recruited Wyll, his body will be found in the aftermath of the battle if you side with the Goblins. If you side with the Tieflings but never recruit him, he simply won't show up in the following Acts once you head for Act 2.
During Act 2, Mizora asks for the player's aid in saving one of Zariel's (the ruler of Avernus) servants from the Absolute's hands. The servant is none other than Mizora herself, trapped inside an Illithid pod. You'll meet her once you reach the Mindflayer's Colony below Moonrise Towers.
If you decide to abandon Mizora or kill her, Wyll is immediately sent to Avernus for the whole eternity as a Lemure, a blobby monster destined to be tortured day after day. This is due to breaking one of his pact's clauses by neglecting his duty. This happens even if Wyll wasn't the one condemning his patron, so I wouldn't ignore her if you care about him in the slightest.
After completing Wyll's character quest (The Blade of Frontiers) by defeating the dragon Ansur in Act 3, Wyll is given the choice of following his father's steps and becoming the next Duke of Baldur's Gate.
You can encourage him to put his blade down and follow a political life, and he'll assume the position as soon as you deal with the Netherbrain. Saving his father is not necessary to reach this conclusion.
You'll have the chance to meet the newest Duke during Withers' epilogue party. Wyll's personal struggles and triumphs depend on the choices you made during your playthrough. He'll comment on how his horns can be a nuisance if he becomes a demon, for example.
He aims to rule alongside three other Dukes, which will include Florrick and his father Ulder Ravengard if those are still alive. He's still looking for another ruler, and invites the player to take this role if you've romanced him.
If his pact with Mizora is broken, she's nowhere to be found, and Wyll mentions he learned some new tricks of his own. If he's still her servant, she stays by his side in a human disguise at all times, much to her amusement and his annoyance. Regardless of the situation, Wyll wishes to rebuild the city and forge as many alliances as possible.
If Wyll becomes a demon and you complete his quest, but don't encourage him to become Duke and say he's a hero instead, he'll take a new title as the Blade of Avernus. After embracing his new nature, he starts hunting down demons and fiends directly in Avernus. He'll be summoned to Withers' party six months later.
You can join him on this new path if you romance him, and both of you will be summoned to the epilogue later. During the epilogue, he'll excitedly share tales of his felled marks. If you went to hell together, he'll be reminiscing how you both defeated them instead.
Similar to other endings, there are some differences depending on how you led your adventures. He mentions how his father is proud of him if he's alive, and that Mizora is surprisingly chill with his new goal, letting him freely chase any enemies of Avernus, in case they're still bound by contract.
If their pact is broken, however, he mentions that she's his next target, and is currently searching for a way to locate and vanquish her once and for all. He's now a Ranger, as he has lost his Warlock powers.
This ending also has a different branch. After defeating the Netherbrain, if Wyll became the Blade of Avernus and you completed Karlach's character quest, he'll offer to return to Avernus alongside her, vowing to protect her from Zariel.
She'll agree, and both of them search for a definite solution to Karlach's heart together in Avernus. He'll speak of their adventures together during the epilogue, and they both got much closer during those six months. Naturally, you can also join them if you wish. Arguably the best possible ending for Karlach and a great one for Wyll too.
Wyll keeps his original title if you manage to complete his personal quest without turning him into a demon and choose not to be Duke, or if you don't complete his quest at all.
Not completing the quest works for both human and demon Wyll. This is the only way to give him this ending as a demon.
This ending is quite similar to the Blade of Avernus route, with the most notable difference being the monsters slain by him (creatures such as dragons and giants instead of demons). Naturally, the Karlach duo-ending cannot happen, as he has no reason to head into Avernus.
His relation to his father and Mizora is roughly the same too, with small details being changed to account for his situation. Wyll remains basically the same as when you met him, so while this is not a bad ending per se, it isn't the best of them either. At least he gets to stay alive and happy.
