Hauntings: Restless Spirits is the second in a sequence of four Hauntings quests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and they all play out in the same way, though with increasing difficulty. After getting the quest in the Necropolis from Myrna and Vorgoth, you are sent to a new destination that is being (you guessed it) haunted - this time, it's Arlathan Forest.
While the textual explanation for this quest is that the spirits have been unsettled and disquieted, and need assistance to guide them back to the peace of the afterlife. In reality, you need to hit them really, really hard, over and over again, until they go away.
For this spirit, hitting them really, really hard with Lucanis or Emmrich is advised, as they are Vulnerable to Necrotic. They are Resistant to Cold, so while an area control character (possibly Bellara) is advisable, it should not be Neve.
Nocturnix can be found in Arlathan Forest, in the middle of Ruins Reach by the wolf statue. All you need to do to start this quest is to approach them, where the fight will begin. He is a level 30 fight, but you will unlock Hauntings: Restless Spirits before Rook reaches that level, so you will want to make sensible use of your party and Abilities to win this one.
This is a regular, aesthetic wolf statue, not one the Wolf Statues you can interact with.
Since Nocturnix has Barrier, you will want to used ranged Charged attacks at its Weakpoint (its head) to whittle that down. Lucanis' Debilitate and Bellara's Fade Bolts also offer a combo that is particularly effective on Barrier.
Nocturnix also summons Undead Warriors, and these share its Vulnerability to Necrotic and Resistance to Cold. These, however, have Armor, so charged Heavy attacks are good. Dealing with these quickly (Bellara's Galvanized Tear lets you draw them close to attack them at the same time) will let you focus on Nocturnix itself.
However, Nocturnix will continue to conjure these Undead Warriors, so you can't focus on them alone. Stop them from piling up, but continue to use Lucanis' Abilities (and Rook's) on Nocturnix. Attacking from range, even after the Barrier is down, is still wise.
Nocturnix's other attack is a use of ranged spirit arrows, which can be highly disruptive if you're taking on one of the Undead Warriors. However, they can be deflected, and they take a while to charge, so they provide an opportunity to rush Nocturnix before they can strike.
Just beware that Nocturnix can set of explosions around itself if you crowd it out, so you will need to dodge away if the ground starts to glow red.
As a Rogue, we got an Enchanted Longblade 4 when Nocturnix fell, as well as 350XP and 4 Ethric Remnant. Back at Myrna and Vorgoth, you'll also get a Seafarer's Cutless weapon appearance (as a Rogue), 400 Gold, and 250 Mourn Watchers strength.
