UnifyDrive reveals early bird pricing of its new UT2 portable NAS

UnifyDrive made the UT2 official a few days back, and now, the company has started its Kickstarter campaign. This has also revealed the early bird pricing of the portable NAS, which is set at $399for the backers who are interested in claiming a unit during the campaign.

As for the UT2 itself, as we've covered earlier, it's a portable backup solution for creatives and professionals who remain on the go. This pocket-sized NAS can hold up to 16 TB of NVMe storage (4 TB Samsung 990 Pro curr.$279.99 on Amazon) and allows you to make backups of SD, TF, and CFe cards with a single click.

In addition, the UnifyDrive UT2 has AP Mode, which offers wireless access to backup storage. There's an Ethernet port for those who want to get the pocket-sized NAS integrated into their local network. It can sync data from cloud servicesas well.

Besides that, the portable NAS features an AI-powered data manager, which makes it easier to sort things out. Thanks to the HDMI port, the UT2 can also offer local playback, allowing you to use it like a local media device with support for playing 8K content.

Hardware-wise, the main highlight of the UnifyDrive UT2 is the Rockchip RK3558C SoC. This is the same chipset that you would find in single-board computers like the Orange Pi 5. It's paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32 GB of eMMC storage. There's also a built-in battery to ensure uninterrupted data backups.
