Press Any Button is an indie arcade game developed by solo developer Eugene Zubko and released in 2021. The story revolves around A-Eye - an artificial intelligence that was actually developed for scientific data processing. As the AI is bored, it decides to develop its own video game despite its lack of experience in game design.
Players interact with A-Eye and test the AI-generated game while experiencing a charming yet strange story that explores themes of life, death and creativity. The game uses simple arcade elements, such as stopping falling blocks, while telling a humorous yet philosophical story. However, the playing time is very manageable. Press Any Button can be played through in around an hour.
On Steam, Press Any Button has a very positive rating average of 91 percent positive ratings from around 2,600 reviews. On Metacritic, the ratings are slightly worse with a user score of 7.9. Press Any Button normally costs just under $2. But if you're quick, you can save yourself the money. Because until September 11 at 1 pm (ET), the game is available for free on Steam.
