Garmin releases new update to recent smartwatch release with over half a dozen improvements

Garmin has been rather busy of late with new product launches. Specifically, the company has just delivered the Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 following a spate of leaks about the three smartwatch series. Unsurprisingly, updates for existing products have dried up in the last week or so.

Nonetheless, the company has found time to update the Lily 2 (curr. $244.99 on Amazon), a hybrid smartwatch that it introduced at the start of the year. For reference, Garmin offers the Lily 2 in regular and Classic variants, which it principally distinguishes with Garmin Pay support. Both variants share plenty of other features though, including a hidden 1.00-inch x 0.84-inch display.

Incidentally, Garmin recently released v5.04 on its Beta Program with only a handful of changes. While that update landed less than a fortnight ago, its stable equivalent ships with considerably more improvements than Beta 5.04. According to the company's changelog, Software Version 5.13 contains just over half a dozen refinements, including changes to how the smartwatch calculates the average distance one covers weekly. Please see Garmin's forum post and the changelog below for more details.

Changes made from v4.14 to v5.13

  • Add software update menu
  • Enhance the stability
  • Fix the miss handling weather icons
  • Support Armenian font
  • Update the calculation of the weekly average distance

Additional Updates

  • Sensor Hub - 31.11
  • Text Translations - 5.10
  • GCM Translations - 5.10
