Comparison of benchmark parameters between 9950X and 7950X

Anandtech forum user igor_kavinski recently shared an AIDA64 benchmark test score about AMD’s upcoming flagship processor Ryzen 9 9950X. This report shows that compared with the current Ryzen 9 7950X processor based on Zen 4 architecture, the performance of the 9950X is improved by up to 45%.

The netizen claimed that he got an early engineering sample of AMD Ryzen 9 9950X and tested it on the AM5 motherboard. It was paired with DDR5-8000 memory and the working timing was CL34-45-40-42. .

According to the AIDA64 benchmark results, the Ryzen 9 9950X "100-000001277" processor has 2 Zen 5 CCDs and 1 IOD, with a total of 16 cores and 32 threads. Its base clock frequency is 4.3 GHz and the boost clock frequency can reach 5.7 GHz. Although the boost frequency is the same as the 7950X, the base frequency is slightly lower by 200 MHz. In addition, this processor is equipped with 80MB of cache (including 64MB of L3 cache and 16MB of L2 cache) and has a TDP of 170W.

In the performance test, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPU was tested in AIDA64 with three workloads: AES, FP32 and FP64. Compared with the Ryzen 9 7950X and Intel's Core i9-13900K, the 9950X has more than 45% performance improvement in the AES test, and there are also significant performance improvements in the FP32 and FP64 tests.

Another benchmark, LinX, shows the 9950X achieving 1657 GFLOPs when using tweaked DDR5 memory (6400 MT/s / 26-36-32-30). It is important to note that these data are based on early performance data from engineering samples, so the performance of the final marketed product may be improved.
