Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra: New evidence of ultra-premium Samsung foldable leaks before rumoured September release

Rumours about Samsung's second sixth-generation Galaxy Z Fold have gone a little quiet of late, particularly after the release of the Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,641.20 - 512 GB on Amazon). However, the so-called Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim or Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra is still said to be in development. Supposedly, Samsung has now set a release date for the long-awaited device too, albeit with caveats.

As before, Samsung is only expected to offer the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra in China and South Korea, the latter because it is Samsung's home market. Reportedly, the company intends to launch its first 'Ultra' branded foldable on September 25 in South Korea, although Samsung has not offered any official confirmation to that effect yet. Also, it remains to be seen whether this release date also applies to China where Samsung will likely sell more units than in South Korea.

While the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra is anticipated to feature the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset as the regular Galaxy Z Fold6, it should feature various hardware and visual changes. Allegedly, the former will have a much wider form factor than the latter, which should facilitate a device thickness of 10 mm when closed. Thus, Samsung's new slimmer foldable will still be thicker than the Magic V2 or Magic V3, which come in at 9.9 and 9.2 mm, respectively.
