The domestic mobile phone OLED screen market is growing rapidly and shipments will reach 298 million units this year

According to the latest forecast from Korean market research company UBI Research, shipments of Chinese-made smartphone OLED screens will reach 298.3 million units in 2024 and are expected to increase to 499.1 million units in 2027. These data cover smartphone OLED panels produced by Chinese panel manufacturers such as BOE, Visionox, and Tianma, with major customers including well-known brands such as Apple, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, and Huawei.

UBI Research predicts that smartphone OLED shipments from Chinese panel manufacturers will continue to grow in the next few years:

1. reaching 298.3 million units in 2024 , an increase of 19% compared to 250.7 million units last year.
2. Growth to 499.1 million units in 2027.

Last year, among Chinese panel manufacturers:

• BOE had the highest market share, accounting for 45%.
• Visionox accounts for 22%.
• Pegasus accounts for 14%.
• CSOT accounts for 10%.
• Hehui Optoelectronics accounts for 9%.

Last year, as companies such as Tianma launched flexible OLEDs for low-priced smartphones, the penetration rate of OLEDs in the Chinese smartphone market increased. Domestic smartphone manufacturers are adopting flexible OLEDs in low-priced models to avoid losing competitive advantage due to reduced display effects. Flexible OLED prices fell as low as $10 last year and have recently risen to $20.

1. UBI Research predicts that BOE’s share of China’s smartphone OLED market will continue to exceed 50% between 2024 and 2027.
2. The estimated shipment rankings during the same period are BOE, Visionox, Tianma, Hehui Optoelectronics, and China Star Optoelectronics.
