The use of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) chips to hardware emulate games has become increasingly popular in recent years. Moreover, there is even a CD/DVD drive for playing Dreamcast and Saturn games. Reportedly, the Supersega will rely on a Virtex Ultrascale+ FPGA chip, which will be complemented by an SD card reader, plus Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
