Polygon Unveils New “Governance Hub” Created in Partnership with Aragon

Polygon has announced the launch of a new “Polygon Governance Hub” in collaboration with Aragon, a prominent developer of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs).

The hub will empower Polygon users and builders to directly shape the future development of Polygon technology through proposals, discussions, and voting on upgrades and improvements to the protocol. This move marks a significant step towards community-driven governance within the Polygon ecosystem.

According to the announcement, the hub will initially concentrate on two crucial aspects: protocol governance for upgrading Polygon protocols and governance over the core smart contracts utilized by Polygon protocols.

Furthermore, builders can submit Polygon Improvement Proposals (PIPs), which will be subject to peer review, public discussion, and voting by the Polygon Protocol Council. Approved PIPs will proceed to a 10-day community vote, where staked token holders and appointed community representatives can vote to accept or reject the proposals.

The hub will serve as a central platform for the Polygon community to engage in discussions, propose ideas, and ultimately decide on the direction of Polygon technology.

This decentralized approach to governance aligns with the ethos of Web3 and aims to foster a transparent, inclusive, and community-led decision-making process within the Polygon ecosystem.
